The Bengals let Swinson fall into their laps, and walked away with a D+. Somebody in pick 193 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bengals sat still while Bradyn Swinson, the No. 57 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The Horton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.
The Bengals indulged a want in Stewart while a need in quarterback stayed open. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
