Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears landed square in the muddy middle: C. The Phillip Webb pick is the one that will follow the Bears into the fall. They took him 307 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A mixed bag that lands at C.
The Howard value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In the 10th overall pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Jackson Slater
They talked themselves into Jackson Slater at slot 39, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
Pick41
Rnd2
Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb at Round 2, Pick 9 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick72
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
A straight-up fair deal on Isaiah Bond at the 72nd pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick148
Rnd5
LeQuint Allen
LeQuint Allen in pick No. 148 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick233
Rnd7
Lathan Ransom
You do not let a safety like Lathan Ransom reach the Round 7 slot and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick240
Rnd7
Will Howard
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Will Howard in pick 240, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
