The Vikings bet big and early on CJ West, 90 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
