Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueC NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Jaguars a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Jaguars reached some 113 spots for Dont'e Thornton Jr., and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The McLaughlin steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In No. 5 they get a load in the middle at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
They let Nick Emmanwori come to them and pounced at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70 Rnd3 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick 70 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm in the 88th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick107 Rnd4 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at pick No. 107 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126 Rnd4 Quincy Riley
They reached into another round for Quincy Riley, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick142 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick182 Rnd6 Elijhah Badger
They reached a country mile for Elijhah Badger at the 182nd overall pick, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick194 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin in Round 6, Pick 18 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
