A weekend that raised as many questions as it answered. The Texans get a C.

There is reaching, and then there is Trikweze Bridges at pick 79. The Texans jumped the board by 348 and dared it to prove them wrong.

Getting Thomas where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Omarion Hampton
A straight-up fair deal on Omarion Hampton at pick 25, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick58 Rnd2 Thor Griffith
They talked themselves into Thor Griffith at No. 58, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick79 Rnd3 Trikweze Bridges
Trikweze Bridges at the 79th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick89 Rnd3 Kyle Ford
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kyle Ford. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick166 Rnd5 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A real head-scratcher, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in pick No. 166 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jaydon Blue
A running back of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick241 Rnd7 Azareye'h Thomas
Somehow Azareye'h Thomas was still sitting there in No. 241, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
