Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D+
ValueF NeedB- TradesB FutureC+
The Bills have some explaining to do: D+.

The Bills went off the board in a big way for Mac McWilliams, 244 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

The Jeanty pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Mac McWilliams
In pick 5 they get a potential shutdown corner, a steep price for the projection.
Pick62 Rnd2 Tai Felton
They talked themselves into Tai Felton at Round 2, Pick 30, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick132 Rnd4 JJ Pegues
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for JJ Pegues. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169 Rnd5 Ashton Jeanty
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at slot 169. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick170 Rnd5 Rayuan Lane III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Rayuan Lane III in No. 170, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jamaree Caldwell
The board fumbled Jamaree Caldwell all the way to the 173rd overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick177 Rnd6 Carson Vinson
Value said wait; Carson Vinson in pick 177 says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
