Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall D
ValueF NeedB+ TradesD- FutureC+
The 49ers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the 49ers shredded theirs for Quinn Carroll. He came off 297 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.

However the rest shakes out, Sampson at that price is a win they earned.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Quinn Carroll
In the 11th overall pick they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. in pick 33 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick75 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dylan Sampson at the 75th pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant slid further than he should have, and pick No. 100 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick113 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
They talked themselves into Luke Kandra at No. 113, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick147 Rnd5 Alijah Clark
They reached a country mile for Alijah Clark at the Round 5 slot, and the board is aghast. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick160 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
A slide stopped in the 160th overall pick, with Mitchell Evans worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick227 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gino Garcia. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick240 Rnd7 KJ Jefferson
KJ Jefferson at pick 240 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
