Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Jets: B-.

Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Jets to leave a draft.

However the rest shakes out, Nash at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In slot 7 they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at the 42nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick73 Rnd3 Kyle Kennard
A straight-up fair deal on Kyle Kennard at pick 73, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick110 Rnd4 David Walker
They paid sticker price for David Walker in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick145 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley at pick No. 145 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick162 Rnd5 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at No. 162 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jack Nelson
Good price on Jack Nelson in the 186th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick207 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
They took Jay Higgins at par in Round 6, Pick 31, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
