Nobody else had Steven Parker anywhere near the 71st pick. The Saints did, by 300 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It nets out a thoroughly average C.

Landing James that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Saints indulged a want in Borregales while a need in quarterback, tight end and other spots stayed open. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
