The Browns answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: D+.

The Browns spent real capital to be 49 picks early on CJ West, and the board is going to hold them to it. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Whatever Cam Ward becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Higgins.

The veteran additions, Taylor Moton chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
