Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Nicholas Singleton, the No. 100 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 150. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Nelson left real value on the table behind him. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
