TDBUCS DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Buccaneers for Ransom: B. Call it larceny. Lathan Ransom sat on the board until the 135th overall pick, and the Buccaneers did not need to be asked twice.
They will need Baron to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in Round 2, Pick 24 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick83
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
They jumped the gun on Darius Alexander, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
They paid up for Jared Wilson at pick No. 90 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick121
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
By-the-book stuff, Cobee Bryant at slot 121 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick125
Rnd4
Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron at the 125th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Somehow Lathan Ransom was still sitting there in the 135th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick144
Rnd5
Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in pick 144 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick173
Rnd5
CJ West
A premium they did not need to pay, CJ West a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick185
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
They talked themselves into Luke Lachey at No. 185, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick199
Rnd6
Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter slid further than he should have, and the 199th pick is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Pick224
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
They reached into another round for Teddye Buchanan, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
