Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B

More right than wrong for the Jaguars, and a B to prove it.

The Jaguars went off the board in a big way for Jermari Harris, 49 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

However the rest shakes out, Watts at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the 5th pick they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Kenneth Grant graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in the 70th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo in No. 88 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick107 Rnd4 Deone Walker
Deone Walker in pick 107 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton at pick No. 126 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick142 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cobee Bryant at Round 5, Pick 4 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jermari Harris
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jermari Harris in pick No. 182, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick194 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They read the board right and Dont'e Thornton Jr. was the payoff at No. 194. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick221 Rnd7 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Somehow Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson was still sitting there in the 221st pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
