The Steelers cashed the board's mistake on Johnson: D+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Will Howard a full 55 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

Johnson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
