More right than wrong for the Buccaneers, and a B- to prove it. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Buccaneers never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They will need Carter to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with tight end the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In No. 19 they get juice off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at Round 2, Pick 21 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick84
Rnd3
Barrett Carter
A premium they did not need to pay, Barrett Carter a notch or two before his time. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
