Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The 49ers let Gordon II fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

Somebody in No. 249 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Ollie Gordon II, the No. 171 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Parr left real value on the table behind him.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick 12 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
A tidy little value on Tyleik Williams in the 43rd overall pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Azareye'h Thomas
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Azareye'h Thomas at the 75th pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick100 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick113 Rnd4 Savion Williams
They barely believed it either: Savion Williams still on the board at Round 4, Pick 11. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick138 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in pick No. 138 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147 Rnd5 Sai'vion Jones
Sai'vion Jones in slot 147 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Pick160 Rnd5 Billy Bowman Jr.
They will replay Billy Bowman Jr. at No. 160 for years; that is how good the value is. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick227 Rnd7 JJ Pegues
The board fumbled JJ Pegues all the way to pick No. 227, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249 Rnd7 Ollie Gordon II
Taking Ollie Gordon II in the 249th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick252 Rnd7 Logan Parr
They went early on Logan Parr in pick 252, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
