The Buccaneers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Tim Smith at the 225th overall pick regardless, 85 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
