The Bears let Williams fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somebody in slot 242 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Nohl Williams, the No. 179 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
