moose37 DRAFTING FOR THEBroncos
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Broncos: B-. The rest of the league had time to spare on Tim Smith; the Broncos did not wait, grabbing him 44 spots ahead at slot 197.
The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Tre Harris
In the 22nd pick they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick53
Rnd2
Howard Cross III
By-the-book stuff, Howard Cross III at pick 53 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick84
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at No. 84 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick120
Rnd4
DJ Giddens
They paid a round early for DJ Giddens in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick194
Rnd6
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at pick No. 194 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick197
Rnd6
Tim Smith
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tim Smith. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
