Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B+
ValueB-

FutureB
Nobody dealt better than the Packers this weekend: B+. When a board-topper like Tanner McLachlan slides to the 253rd overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
The Ezirim pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The phones were where this weekend was really won. On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
A tidy little value on Keon Coleman in No. 50, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66
Rnd3
Renardo Green
They jumped the gun on Renardo Green, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick88
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in slot 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the 104th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Fair-plus on Cam Hart, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick110
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at Round 4, Pick 10 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick126
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at pick No. 126 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick159
Rnd5
Jordan Travis
The board had cheaper options than Jordan Travis at pick 159, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick169
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick181
Rnd6
Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha is a better player than the 181st pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick202
Rnd6
Trente Jones
Trente Jones at the 202nd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
A premium they did not need to pay, Jordan Magee a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick219
Rnd6
Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace in slot 219 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick225
Rnd7
Trey Taylor
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Taylor this early at No. 225. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jowon Briggs
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jowon Briggs in the Round 7 slot, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245
Rnd7
Josiah Ezirim
Josiah Ezirim in Round 7, Pick 25 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick252
Rnd7
Jalen Sundell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jalen Sundell in pick 252. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick253
Rnd7
Tanner McLachlan
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Tanner McLachlan in No. 253, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
No edge and no loss on Kimani Vidal in pick 255; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
