FutureB
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B+. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Josiah Ezirim. He came off 47 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
The Reiman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at the 41st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick80
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright slid further than he should have, and pick No. 80 is lovely value for the running back. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil in the 88th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Good price on Dominick Puni in slot 91, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick93
Rnd3
DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter at pick 93 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick97
Rnd3
Ray Davis
A reach on Ray Davis in slot 97; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick115
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the 115th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick126
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
No drama and no debate, Beaux Limmer went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick169
Rnd5
Malik Mustapha
They took Malik Mustapha at par in pick No. 169, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick202
Rnd6
Tip Reiman
Steal is underselling it; Tip Reiman at the 202nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick214
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They read the board right and Joe Milton III was the payoff at No. 214. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at pick 219 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick245
Rnd7
Josiah Ezirim
Josiah Ezirim at Round 7, Pick 25 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalen Sundell
Jalen Sundell at pick 255 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
