The Packers won the night they stopped McKinstry from sliding. Grade: B+. Somebody in pick 58 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Kool-Aid McKinstry, the No. 24 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They will need Watson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
