Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB-

TradesA+
FutureB-
The Packers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Cornelius Johnson, the No. 186 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 219th pick. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Limmer pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In slot 16 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the 50th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 88 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick91
Rnd3
Beaux Limmer
Value said wait; Beaux Limmer in No. 91 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126
Rnd4
Javon Foster
Javon Foster in the 126th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick161
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick169
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd in Round 5, Pick 33 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick179
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They talked themselves into Joe Milton III at pick No. 179, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick202
Rnd6
Tanor Bortolini
Value with a capital V on Tanor Bortolini in the 202nd overall pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace in slot 210 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219
Rnd6
Cornelius Johnson
Circle this one: Cornelius Johnson at slot 219 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick245
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
They liked Kimani Vidal enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 245. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick255
Rnd7
Trey Taylor
A reach for Trey Taylor in the 255th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
