Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B-

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Frank Crum, 49 picks early at the 245th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The Sainristil pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In pick No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
No edge and no loss on Javon Bullard in the 41st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick58
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at slot 58 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
Value with a capital V on Mike Sainristil in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick91
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the 91st overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick126
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
By-the-book stuff, Mohamed Kamara at pick 126 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at Round 5, Pick 33 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202
Rnd6
Jase McClellan
Nothing to complain about; Jase McClellan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219
Rnd6
C.J. Hanson
A big swing on C.J. Hanson at slot 219, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick245
Rnd7
Frank Crum
Frank Crum in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick255
Rnd7
Tyrice Knight
They took Tyrice Knight at par in the 255th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
