A passer of the future in Maye, and a C+, for the Bears.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

They banked enough surplus on Jenkins to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

So much rides on Drake Maye that the real verdict is a season or two away.
