GradyWempe14 DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Cardinals, and a B to prove it. Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Cardinals will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In slot 4 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27
Rnd1
Byron Murphy II
In the 27th pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in No. 35 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the 66th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick71
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
By-the-book stuff, Mike Sainristil at pick 71 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick90
Rnd3
Trey Benson
They did well to land Trey Benson in pick No. 90, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
