Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

Larceny in pick 131 lands the Chiefs a B, Goncalves and all. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Matt Goncalves, pick 131, roughly 25 picks past where he belonged. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Taylor III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Xavier Legette
In pick No. 31 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders at No. 63 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick94
Rnd3
Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in the 94th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick131
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves at Round 4, Pick 31 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick161
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in pick 161 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick171
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
Good price on Grayson Murphy in the 171st pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at slot 175 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick209
Rnd6
Jawhar Jordan
No edge and no loss on Jawhar Jordan in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252
Rnd7
Maurice Smith
A tidy little value on Maurice Smith in Round 7, Pick 32, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
