The Panthers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The Panthers torched the value chart for Quincy Riley, taking him 39 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

However the rest shakes out, Neal at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.

In pick No. 8 they get a green-dot type in the middle, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jalen Royals
By-the-book stuff, Jalen Royals at the 57th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick74 Rnd3 JT Tuimoloau
Steal is underselling it; JT Tuimoloau at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

Somehow Gunnar Helm was still sitting there in pick 111, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

Tommi Hill at the 163rd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
