Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueA NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
McGlothern should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B.

When a board-topper like Dwight McGlothern slides to pick No. 218, you do not overthink it, and the Ravens did not. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Eboigbe to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In the 30th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
They barely believed it either: Nate Wiggins still on the board at the 62nd overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick93 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
You do not let a wide receiver like Xavier Worthy reach pick 93 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick113 Rnd4 Marshawn Kneeland
They robbed the room for Marshawn Kneeland here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick130 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at pick No. 130 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jalyx Hunt
Nice patience on Jalyx Hunt, who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick218 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 218 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228 Rnd7 JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand is a better player than slot 228 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick250 Rnd7 Tatum Bethune
Tatum Bethune at slot 250 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
