Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB FutureA
More right than wrong for the Jets, and a B to prove it.

The Jets clearly saw something nobody else did in Joe Milton III, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. De'Vondre Campbell gives the group a proven body among the projects.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In No. 31 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
They took Ja'Lynn Polk at par in the 63rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick72 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
A reach for Patrick Paul in slot 72; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick111 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in pick No. 111 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick124 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
A clean, defensible pick in pick 124 with a little surplus value in Brenden Rice. It fills a real need, too.
Pick134 Rnd4 Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha at Round 4, Pick 34 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick185 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
A wild overpay on Joe Milton III in the 185th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick256 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
A conviction pick on Frank Gore Jr. at Round 7, Pick 36 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257 Rnd7 Tatum Bethune
A straight-up fair deal on Tatum Bethune at the 257th pick, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
