Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
The Bears found their guy under center in Nix: B+.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Bo Nix is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Nix has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a long-term answer under center, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick16 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
In the 16th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick17 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In pick No. 17 they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
In slot 27 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In No. 29 they get a true top target. A real need, handled.
Pick50 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at pick 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
The board had Cooper Beebe higher than the 75th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jared Wiley
They went early on Jared Wiley in No. 122, and the value did not follow. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick138 Rnd5 Bucky Irving
Nothing to complain about; Bucky Irving went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
