McCarthy is the plan now, and the Cowboys grade out a F.

The Cowboys looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Tommy Eichenberg at the Round 3 slot regardless, 58 picks early. A F, plain and simple.

So much rides on J.J. McCarthy that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
