Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Buccaneers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Buccaneers started one anyway for DeMonte Capehart, 139 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The Hadden value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82 Rnd3 Trey Benson
The board had cheaper options than Trey Benson at the 82nd overall pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott in the 99th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick124 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Johnny Wilson at pick No. 124, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126 Rnd4 Christian Jones
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Jones a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
A big swing on Jordan Travis at pick 131, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight at Round 5, Pick 28 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick203 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
The board fumbled Kamal Hadden all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick244 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at the 244th pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick255 Rnd7 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at the 255th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
