The Bears let Simon fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Cody Simon had no business being available in Round 6, Pick 14, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

Reaching for Nelson left real value on the table behind him. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
