Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

FutureB-
The Panthers let Skattebo fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Panthers were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 88 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 111. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Buchanan proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In pick 8 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts slipping to No. 57 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick74
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
A tidy little value on Carson Schwesinger in pick No. 74, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick111
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick114
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in the 114th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick154
Rnd5
Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans at the 154th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163
Rnd5
O'Donnell Fortune
Good price on O'Donnell Fortune in slot 163, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick166
Rnd5
Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson in Round 5, Pick 28 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick219
Rnd7
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
The board fumbled KeAndre Lambert-Smith all the way to the 219th pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick236
Rnd7
Karene Reid
Karene Reid in Round 7, Pick 20 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick241
Rnd7
Carson Vinson
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 7 slot with a little surplus value in Carson Vinson. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick246
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
They paid up for Teddye Buchanan at pick No. 246 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
