The Bears won the night they stopped Mondon Jr. from sliding. Grade: F. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bears took Jared Wilson at No. 168, roughly 44 spots before his name belonged. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.
That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.
