The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Mullings: D. Call it larceny. Kalel Mullings sat on the board until the 195th pick, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice.
The cost of the Wilson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
