Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bengals.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bengals took Carter Bradley a full 74 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In pick No. 18 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders at No. 49 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick80 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
They paid sticker price for Cooper Beebe in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick115 Rnd4 Malik Washington
Malik Washington at Round 4, Pick 15 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick151 Rnd5 Austin Booker
A conviction pick on Austin Booker at slot 151 that the board grades a round light. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in pick 173 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick196 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
They did well to land Kimani Vidal in pick No. 196, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
They took Nathaniel Watson at par in Round 7, Pick 18, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick254 Rnd7 Carter Bradley
A wild overpay on Carter Bradley in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
