Draft Grade — Browns
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
A passer of the future in Nix, and a D, for the Browns.

Somebody took the Browns to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

They have staked the next five years on Bo Nix, which is the only story that really matters here. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

However the rest shakes out, McMillan at that price is a win they earned.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In No. 8 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Bo Nix
Bo Nix at pick 27 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick55 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan in slot 55 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
A tidy little value on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 66, a step better than break-even. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick74 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
They read the board right and Mekhi Wingo was the payoff at the 74th overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick86 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Christian Mahogany in the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick110 Rnd4 Jalen McMillan
They robbed the room for Jalen McMillan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
They will replay Khyree Jackson at the 135th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick156 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at Round 5, Pick 20 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick205 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Nice patience on Josh Proctor, who had no business lasting to No. 205. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick208 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
You do not let a linebacker like Curtis Jacobs reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick228 Rnd7 Jalen Berger
A slide stopped in the 228th overall pick, with Jalen Berger worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
