The Panthers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Panthers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will need Walker to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
