Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Rams found their guy under center in Simpson: B-. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Rams committed. Ty Simpson is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Getting Simpson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Hood reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Colton Hood
In pick 13 they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. Need was not the driver here.
Pick29
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
In slot 29 they get a long-term answer under center at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick61
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
They paid sticker price for Lee Hunter in the 61st overall pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
