Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B-

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Browns. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Browns did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most.
Every board in the league had Lomu lower, and that gap is the story. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick24
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
In pick No. 24 they get a long-term starter on the line, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Christen Miller
Christen Miller at slot 39 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
