Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Michael Trigg got past him. The Panthers do not have to explain a thing at Round 5, Pick 16. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They are betting Hobbs proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
