Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Solomon Tuliaupupu a full 54 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on Johnson to cover a lot of smaller sins. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick59 Rnd2 A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington at pick 59 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick85 Rnd3 Chandler Rivers
They paid sticker price for Chandler Rivers in pick No. 85, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92 Rnd3 Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks in No. 92 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick121 Rnd4 Chris Johnson
Chris Johnson slipping to Round 4, Pick 21 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick160 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor in slot 160 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick202 Rnd6 Brandon Inniss
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Brandon Inniss well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick237 Rnd7 Solomon Tuliaupupu
A wild overpay on Solomon Tuliaupupu in pick 237, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick253 Rnd7 Kayin Lee
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kayin Lee at No. 253. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick256 Rnd7 Riley Mahlman
Riley Mahlman in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
