The Bears won the night they stopped Giddens from sliding. Grade: B+.

When a board-topper like DJ Giddens slides to Round 7, Pick 8, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Quenton Nelson leading the way. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
