Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Eboigbe should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Justin Eboigbe at pick 169 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Beebe pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Graham Barton
In slot 25 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the 41st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick58 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
They talked themselves into Cooper Beebe at Round 2, Pick 26, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88 Rnd3 DJ James
They took DJ James at par in No. 88, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick91 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
Nice patience on Mekhi Wingo, who had no business lasting to pick No. 126. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Justin Eboigbe
A edge rusher of that caliber at pick 169 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini in the 202nd overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219 Rnd6 Tyler Owens
They paid up for Tyler Owens at Round 6, Pick 44 when waiting would have done the job. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick245 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sheridan Jones in the 245th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick255 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal in slot 255 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
