Rcon620 DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB
The Eagles did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tyler Baron at the 134th pick is 23 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The bottom line is a respectable B.
However the rest shakes out, Brown at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick46
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick64
Rnd2
Trey Amos
A quiet steal in slot 64: Trey Amos for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick96
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at No. 96 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick134
Rnd4
Tyler Baron
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tyler Baron this early at the 134th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick161
Rnd5
O'Donnell Fortune
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and O'Donnell Fortune at pick 161 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick164
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool in pick No. 164 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick165
Rnd5
Logan Brown
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 165 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick168
Rnd5
Nick Nash
Nick Nash in the 168th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
