Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers won the night they stopped Simpson from sliding. Grade: B.

Somebody in Round 7, Pick 25 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Jaylin Simpson, the No. 137 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will need Wallace to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick 25 they get a long-term starter on the line at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick58 Rnd2 Junior Colson
A clean, defensible pick in No. 58 with a little surplus value in Junior Colson. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Good price on Jaden Hicks in Round 3, Pick 25, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
They did well to land Dominick Puni in the 91st pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
By-the-book stuff, Isaac Guerendo at the 126th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick169 Rnd5 Trevin Wallace
Value said wait; Trevin Wallace in pick No. 169 says they were not listening. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Javon Foster
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 202 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Kitan Oladapo
Steal is underselling it; Kitan Oladapo at pick 219 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in Round 7, Pick 25 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick255 Rnd7 Nick Gargiulo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nick Gargiulo this early at the 255th pick. It fills a real need, too.
