Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Nubin: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Tyler Nubin, the No. 29 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 3 slot.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Nate Wiggins
The board had Nate Wiggins higher than No. 25, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41
Rnd2
Amarius Mims
Taking Amarius Mims in Round 2, Pick 9 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick57
Rnd2
Jonathon Brooks
No edge and no loss on Jonathon Brooks in pick 57; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88
Rnd3
Tyler Nubin
The board fumbled Tyler Nubin all the way to pick No. 88, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91
Rnd3
Gabriel Murphy
They did well to land Gabriel Murphy in the 91st pick, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick125
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in slot 125 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at the 135th overall pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick203
Rnd6
Michael Wiley
Michael Wiley slipping to the Round 6 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick217
Rnd6
Jalen Green
Jalen Green at the 217th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick219
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
They barely believed it either: Curtis Jacobs still on the board at slot 219. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick246
Rnd7
Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan is a better player than No. 246 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
