The Texans looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Tanner McLachlan at pick No. 245 regardless, 45 picks early. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
